Local
I live in North Manchester, and regularly sketch in and around Prestwich, my local village. My sketches are done on the spot, sometimes coloured and finished at home (depending on weather). I like to make a mental note of some of the small hidden away places and their detail. I then return to a favourite spot to sketch and photograph.

Keeping going as a veteran runner requires mental grit, and the road ahead can be intimidating. This sketch illustrates how you can motivate yourself to keep going - to the next gate, the next lamp post, the next parked car.

The Neighbours
Pencil and gouache

A lot of the houses in this area fairly typical of a Northern UK town. They are older houses, often close together and backing onto each other at a variety of angles, often with alleyways running along the sides.

An interesting jumble of buildings in my local town.

Church Inn, Prestwich
A favourite path emerges right in front of this local pub. It is a good stop off point for walkers.
